BECOME A MENTOR

You are free to coach students in the skills you are most confident teaching–from welding or carpentry to customer service or sales. Working one-on-one with students, you’ll share your hard-earned knowledge in hands-on training. Whether you empower technical skill-building, or practice the professional or “soft” skills that underpin career success, you’ll put young adults on a trajectory for upward mobility.

Within our training framework, every moment you invest makes a difference. Our thorough intake process results in highly personalized training plans, for each student, that get results. We even have a mobile training facility with all the necessary tools, computers, and supplies for teaching classes at a remote location.

You can advise students in person or virtually, on a platform like Zoom. Create a teaching schedule with the number of hours and timing that fit your life. With your depth of experience, even one focused 20-minute session can help students progress.

Volunteer advisors are central to achieving our mission. But you don’t have to be an industry expert to make a difference. All you need is some life and vocational experience, a willingness to share what you’ve learned, and availability for a few short Zoom meetings.

After some quick preparation with our staff, you’ll coach students in essential soft skills that are proven to enable success–including communication and problem-solving. Through live role play and guided by a short curriculum, you can help students develop game-changing competencies.

As a source of encouragement and a trusted sounding board, you’ll model positive behavior while cultivating a sense of community that bolsters the skill-building process.
